Product Description
Eastman Spectar™ 14471 copolyester is a sparkling, clear plastic material that is increasingly popular for protective barriers used to limit the spread of viruses like COVID-19, including sneeze guards. For these applications, Spectar is a proven alternative to polycarbonate and acrylic.

Eastman Spectar™ copolyester is BPA free, environmentally friendly, fire and shatter resistant, long lasting, and resistant to common commercial cleaning agents. It can be found in a variety of end applications around the world, like point-of-purchase displays; separation barriers; signs; light fixtures at retailers, schools, hospitals, and office buildings; and sneeze guards.

Facility managers prefer Spectar copolyester for its excellent fire safety, chemical resistance, and versatility. It is the only clear plastic for heavy-gauge sheet applications that passes the National Fire Protection Association’s NFP 286 flammability test, required by many regional and national building codes. Unlike some materials, Spectar is highly resistant to common cleaning agents, including many Spartan and Clorox products, enabling it to withstand discoloration and last longer. It is less brittle than acrylic polymers, allowing it to be easily shaped and formed to enable faster, easier installation. And best of all, surface scratches or scuff marks can be removed using a common heat gun.

Retailers prefer Spectar copolyester for point-of-purchase displays due to its aesthetically pleasing, crystal-clear, premium appeal that enhances the shopping experience. It is the material of choice for its glasslike appearance and ability to be shaped and curved.

Sheet made from Eastman Spectar™ copolyester is available throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Ask your contractor, fabricator, distributor, or e-retailer to specify Spectar for your next project.
