Product Description
Tacolyn™ 5002 resin dispersion is an aqueous, 55% solids, solvent-free, anionic hydrocarbon resin dispersion. It is recommended as a tackifier for natural rubber and styrene butadiene rubber latex polymers used in label, tape, construction, and contact adhesive applications. As a modifier for pressure sensitive label and tape adhesives, Tacolyn™ 5002 provides a good balance of peel and shear and enhances specific adhesion to polyolefin substrates and recycled corrugated board. Tacolyn™ 5002 is recommended for water-based contact adhesives where fast break properties are required as in foam to foam bonding applications.

Compatibility and Solubility
Compatible with acrylic, vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE), polyvinyl acetate, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), polychloroprene (neoprene) and natural rubber latexes. When mixed with cationic substances, this dispersion may precipitate. When high alkaline or acidic additives are added to Tacolyn™ 5002, gross localized pH-variations should be avoided, as these can lead to destabilization and grit formation.

Packaging
Available in lined fiber drums (445 lbs/202 kg net wt.), disposable totes or tank trucks. Keep container closed to prevent formation of dried film on container walls. If dry filming occurs, filter product before use.

Storage
The useful life of this product can be affected by storage and handling conditions. This dispersion will remain within product specification limits for at least 182 days from date of manufacture from an Eastman production facility provided that storage conditions are observed. The recommended storage temperature range is 50°-100°F. This resin dispersion may be irreparably damaged if frozen. Accordingly, all shipments in cold climate areas are made in insulated or heated carriers. It is recommended that strict control of inventory be observed at all times, taking care that the oldest material is used first.
