Product Description
Eastman™ Ester Gum 8L-M Resin is a thermoplastic glycerol ester of gum rosin with very low color and acid number, especially designed to be used in the adhesive industry for the production of hot melt adhesives. The special production process used for this resin permits the production of a product with high oxidation resistance, excellent color retention and minimal odor.

Compatibility and Solubility
Is compatible with EVA copolymers, polychloroprene, pure phenolic resins, SBR, acrylic polymers, natural and synthetic rubber, waxes, drying oils, other rosin derivitaves, paraffinand chlorinated paraffin. It is soluble in esters, ketones, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatics and chlorinated solvents. It is insoluble in water, methanol and ethanol.
Packaging
Eastman™ Ester Gum 8L-M Resin is packaged in polyethylene bags of 25 kgs. net weight, in lumps.
Storage
The form of the product is in small crushed lumps packaged in a polyethylene bag, since its softening temperature is relatively low, there is a tendency toward remassing, fusion or aglomeration under conditions of: 1) ambient temperature >30°C; 2) storage near heat sources; 3) prolonged storage; 4) stacking more than 2 pallets high, of any combionation of these. Because of the large surface area present in the small particles, the product is susceptible to gardual oxidation which, in severe cases, can cause darkening and/or alteration of the solubility in organic solvents or the compatibility with other polymers. For this reason it is strongly recommended that a strict control of inventory be observed, always using the oldest material first, and that stacks be limited to two pallets maximum. The shelf life of this product is estimated at 6 months from the date of reciept.
