Eastman AQ™ 1950 Copolyester
Applications
Case and carton closures
Commercial printing inks
Product Description
Eastman AQ™ 1950 is a branched, water-dispersible sulfopolyester designed as a base polymer for hot melt adhesive formulations. With a melt viscosity of approximately 95,000 cP at 177°C, a ring-and-ball softening point of 115°C, and a glass-transition temperature of approximately 3°C, AQ 1950 is well suited for applications requiring elevated-temperature performance and strong bonding. It can be formulated with compatible tackifying resins, plasticizers, and antioxidants, and is particularly suitable for multiwall bag end-seam adhesives and other packaging applications. Formulations based on AQ 1950 can provide alkaline repulpability, supporting fiber-recovery processes such as those used for beater bags and related paper products.
