Technical Data Sheet
Eastman™ Chlorinated Polyolefin 515-2 (40% Solids in Toluene)
Eastman™ Chlorinated Polyolefin 515-2 (40% in Toluene) is a liquid at room temperature. If the solution gels due to storage at low temperatures, it can be re-liquified by warming to 38 degrees C with agitation. CP 515-2 has good heat resistance. Solutions of CP 514-2 (as supplied) can easily be reduced with xylene, toluene, selected ketones, and ester solvents. CP 515-2 is compatible with a variety of resins. It combines with the resins to give clear solutions and deposit clear films. Although CP 515-2 shows borderline compatibility with some resins, this is not a problem because of the small amount of CP 515-2 usually added to a coating or ink. CP 515-2 has excellent adhesion to polypropylene and good to excellent adhesion to many other substrates. Not only will CP 515-2 adhere to a variety of substrates, but when added to coatings and inks, it improves their adhesion to these substrates.
