Product Description

Chemical name: N,N'-Bis(1,4-dimethylpentyl)-p-phenylenediamine
Molecular weight: 305

Eastman Santoflex 77PD acts as a high activity antiozonant to protect natural and synthetic elastomer compounds, particularly in static applications for compounds containing no wax.

Santoflex 77PD is also acts as an antioxidant particularly effective for gasolines produced by cracking or pyrolysis (high olefin content gasoline) and as an effective polymerization inhibitor.

Key Attributes
• Flex fatigue protection properties are improved with Santoflex 77PD.
• Due to its high solubility in rubber, the product does not bloom or easily leach from compounds even at high concentrations.

Applications
• Santoflex 77PD is used in compounds subjected to static and dynamic conditions for long periods of time, i.e. tires used in passenger cars and trucks, aircraft, OTR, mobile homes, and agricultural equipment, as well as structural mounts, fixed hoses, gaskets, etc.
• Santoflex 77PD provides stabilization for a wide range of solution and emulsion polymerized elastomers that can tolerate discoloration.
• Santoflex 77PD is used as an antioxidant and sweetening agent for fuels.
• Santoflex 77PD is used as a polymerization inhibitor in styrene monomer, p-methylstyrene, divinylbenzene and acrylate esters production and as a column antifoulant.

Storage and Shelf Life
Santoflex 77PD can be stored in drums or in bulk tanks. Store drums below 35°C and away from direct sunlight. For heated bulk storage above 35°C, incorporate a nitrogen blanket on the tank to prevent product oxidation that could reduce its usefulness as an antiozonant. Also, continuously circulate product stored in heated tanks to minimize temperature gradients and reduce heating element fouling, thus maximizing the product's consistency.


The shelf life of Santoflex 77PD is 24 months from the date of manufacture, based on the recommended handling and storage conditions. Once the material has surpassed shelf life, please contact us if you would like to receive our suggestions for material re-verification, based on key product characteristics.
