Product Description

Methyl formate, a methyl ester of formic acid, is a clear liquid with an ethereal odor, high vapor pressure, and low surface tension.

Methyl formate can be used, among other applications, as curing agent for resin-based foundry molds and as blowing agent for polyurethane foams. Methyl formate is also used in the synthesis of fine chemicals and insect control agents.

In the environment methyl formate decomposes into carbon dioxide and water.
